The button manufacturer "By Michelangelo", was founded in Florence in 1968.
The founder decided almost immediately to move the headquarters to Empoli, which in those years was expanding to become Tuscany's most important production park in the clothing sector.
From the very beginning the company specialised in producing buttons and accessories made of natural materials such as galalith, horn, corozo and bone, as well of course of the polyester imitations.
In the early '80s it perfected its production of press-studs in zama, predicting what was to be a market trend in the years to come.
